Does It Hurt?
You will be numbed with a topical anesthetic 30 minutes prior to treatment as the heat can be a little uncomfortable. A slight burning feeling may be felt during procedure but the local anesthetic makes it tolerable.
What Does Recovery Look Like?
You can expect redness and in some instances swelling (typically under eyes) immediately after the procedure for up to 48 hours. Little white dots will be on your skin where treated the first day and will eventually turn into brown scabs. The scabs need to fall off naturally to protect the new skin and prevent any additional damage to the skin- this usually takes place within 5-6 days. After scabs fall off, it is not abnormal to have very light pink dots in place while new skin continues to heal. Mineral makeup may be worn 24-48 hours after treatment to cover treated areas.
How Long Do Results Last
Skin will be tightened immediately and will be noticeable during treatment. Final results will be noticeable within 2 weeks of treatment and are permanent. With continual aging and natural breakdown of skin, you can expect skin to remain tight for 3-4 years until a touch up is needed.
